Description/Job Summary

General Function & Key Objectives:
Ensure that the company meets its business goals in terms of machine sales, growth, market share and profitability in the assigned Direct Sales Area “Northern California and Nevada North West
Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Grow and Maintain Surface Blast Hole Drilling Equipment (ADS) sales and market share.
  2. Grow and Maintain Foundation Drilling Equipment (SED) sales and market share
  3. Grow and Maintain Surface Crawler Drilling Equipment (SED) sales and market share
  4. Develop RDT sales on a direct basis to the Blast Hole, Surface Crawler and Foundation Industries.
  5. Develop and implement a strategy to achieve the growth and sales targets.
  6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with established customers through close management of the accounts and attention to their needs.
  7. Assess and define customer applications so that the correct product can be represented.Ensure integrity in the application of the products.
  8. Assist and implement Parts and Service sales growth in the area of established Blast Hole,Surface Crawler and Foundation machines population for the set territory.
  1. Ensure adequate customer product support, by working closely with the Customer Service Manager.
  2. Plan, organize and administer equipment demonstrations as per set procedures.
  3. Participate in start-up of new and rental fleet equipment.
  4. Provide adequate support for RDT products to assigned customers, via deliveries, quotations and demo’s as needed
Communication Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate market activities to the Management, and work together to secure orders.
  2. Communicate service and product support issues with the service manager and Customer service manager.
  3. Prepare information for sales meetings & conference calls.
  4. Prepare weekly activity reports, including next week activities and an update on sales prospects.
  5. Collect and submit data to maintain a customer information database.
  6. Maintain competitor information (specifications, market share etc.
  7. Report industry trends relating to equipment, market & application.
  8. Participate in equipment shows and association meetings.
  9. Assist other MRE personnel in achieving their goals in your geographic area with their respective products.
  10. File serious customer complaints to the PM and BLM, so that they can be addressed in a systematic manner.
Training & Skill Development:
  1. Maintain a high level of product and product application knowledge.
  2. Be capable of understanding machine functions and systems and proper applications for equipment being sold and or rented
  3. Participate in annual sales meetings & sales training.
General Work Attitude:
  1. Work cooperatively with Customer Service, Technical Service and Field Service groups in a spirit of teamwork to address problem areas and stimulate after market sales.
  2. Safeguard the assets of the company in general and reveal no information to competitors or outside parties, which could be harmful to our business.
  3. Manage in the best interest of the company, those assets entrusted to you. These may include but are not limited to; vehicles, computers, phones, faxes and products.
  4. Use the budgeted resources available to you in the most cost-effective way for promoting the company’s business.
  5. Foster practices which are consistent with the company’s values and beliefs. Share knowledge with colleagues and actively work to raise the competence level of the group. Strive for unity and trust within the group and expect to produce results before receiving rewards. Search for truth and avoid propagating rumors.
  6. Act on behalf of peer group members in their absence as and when called upon to do so either by design or circumstance.
  1. The successful candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent years of related experience and/or training.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of practical related experience in the mining or construction equipment field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  1. Prepare and submit quotations and negotiate sales contracts in accordance with company guidelines.
  2. Discretionary price setting within established limits.
  3. Discretionary flexibility in regards to travel and entertainment in accordance with overall company policy and budget.
